Massage Therapy

Joanna MacEachern has been practicing for 4 years and specialises in:

What do we do in a massage session?

Assessments - blood pressure, posture, gait, range of motion of affected limbs, orthopedic testing, basic neurological testing, and client intake. Answer questions.

Draping - use towels and sheets, never exposed, can do over sheets, mostly beneficial on skin.

Positioning - on your side, back or stomach.

Massage - Swedish massage, relaxation music, trigger points, myofascial stretching, low grade joint play, stretching, hydrotherapy, relaxation.

Homework - stretches, hydrotherapy, exercises.

Tips before you receive a massage

(1) Shower first. (2) Show up 15 minutes before first treatment. (3) Try not to drink caffeine or eat too much before each session.

Who should get massage?

Everyone, pregnant women after first month, sport or regular injuries such as sprains, strains, dislocation, soft tissue injuries, repetitive strain, carpal tunnel etc, Athletes pre and post events, if you suffer from headaches, stress, anxiety, constipation, systemic illness and terminal conditions or have been in a motor vehicle accident.

Remember keeping up regular maintenance of your body can prevent injuries.

Physical and mental relaxation, release of endorphins and other beneficial hormones into the system decreasing anxiety and Increasing circulation, blood flow and lymph. Decreases muscle tension, pain, discomfort, and stiffness. Home visits are available, social events, parties, work conferences, sports events.

  • $85 1 ½ hour

Special $300 up front for 6 massages
